Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys!

We left Louisville at about 8:00 in the morning and headed straight for Tennessee. From Louisville to Nashville, Tennessee was only about a 2 hour drive. After making the required stop and taking the required photo at the welcome center, we pulled up to the Country Music Hall of Fame. This place was way more than I expected. We actually spent 3 hours inside learning everything there is to know about the long history of country music. Here are some photos from the experience. The 2nd car photo was Elvis Presley's Cadillac. It had a gold plated TV inside of it.

Our only other stop in Nashville was Central Park across from Vanderbilt University. In the middle of this park there is an exact replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Apparently, Nashville is called the "Athens of the South." Although I'm not really sure why! Mom was excited since she has been to the actual ruins of the Parthenon in Greece. That's her standing at the bottom of the giant columns in the middle photo!

We said goodbye to Nashville and drove a little over 3 hours to Memphis, Tennessee. We will be spending the 4th of July in Memphis. We are staying at a place called the American Inn on Elvis Presley Boulevard. Does it get any more American than that on our nation's celebration of independence?!? Stay tuned to hear all about our exciting adventures in the city of blues!

It's called "the Athens of the south" because they are constantly at war with Memphis, which we all know is "the Sparta of the south."
