We entered into Wyoming, our 12th state! And it wasn't long before the odometer had turned over to read 4,000 miles. Good thing we got some new tires on the car when we were in Nevada! We pulled over at the welcome center and saw some creatures that you certainly don't see on the east coast...bison! Boy are they big.

And here I am inside the welcome center feeling the fur and hoping this giant bison head doesn't fall on me!

Mom and I decided that for the rest of the trip we needed to ditch the Explorer and really travel like the pioneers. Not sure if this wagon will get us back to Massachusetts?!

Once you get into Wyoming...you look to the left or to the right and all you see is land!!!

Here's some interesting trivia for you about Wyoming. They were the first state to give women the right to vote. Along with Colorado, they were 23 years ahead of the other states. You go early 1900s Wyoming girls! Thanks for paving the way for the rest of us. Wyoming also had the first woman governor. This state rocks!
We rolled into Cheyenne around 5:30, just in time for our 6:00 deadline to check-in to our motel. We put our bags in our room and decided to venture downtown. We parked the car (the wagon idea didn't last!) and as soon as we started walking down the street we heard gunshots! We came around the corner and saw a re-enactment of a gunfight! Sorry that I only have a few pictures and they are not the greatest, but I was too busy covering my ears and trying not to show my fear!

I will have to update you later on the real reason we are hear in Cheyenne...Frontier Days!!! Wait until I show you what we saw!
